Life at Sierra Pointe
My mother has been living at Sierra Pointe for eight years and we both consider the services and level of professionalism to be consistently beyond expectations. The attributes of the building are superior to any I've seen and the main dining room looks like a private club. The staff are second to none in their sensitivity and quick response to the needs, safety and comfort of the residents. All these things allow me to rest assured that everything will be handled perfectly.

We know it can be daunting to make a major life change to senior living, especially if there's an adjustment to downsizing or concern about losing one's independence. Change isn't always easy, so at Sierra Pointe, a Scottsdale retirement community, we take special care to welcome each new resident on arrival day. We believe that people thrive and grow in welcoming communities. As a rental community, we don't take your commitment to Sierra Pointe for granted! You're renting, not committing yourself for life to one community, so we MUST make good on our promises to you every day.
Our Great Neighborhood!
Come live in a retirement home in a choice Scottsdale location - a real neighborhood! What do we mean? A neighborhood that blends both residential with shops, restaurants, grocery, cleaners, drug stores and a dozen other types of businesses - all within easy walking distance. We're not remotely isolated deep within a residential community, nor are we situated on 20 acres off a freeway.
Cultural and Entertainment CalendarOur independent living monthly calendar offers lectures by the Phoenix Art Museum as well as speakers and programming on a variety of educational topics. Most Saturday nights in the Pinnacle Bistro feature live entertainment; Sierra Pointe hosts snacks and alcoholic beverages are available. |
Physical and Mental Fitness ProgramsAqua aerobics - even for one - shows our commitment to physical fitness in senior housing. Residents are led weekly in Total Body Conditioning, Tai-Chi, staff-guided walks in the neighborhood and Zumba Dance Class. The Fitness Center is always open and equipment training available. Residents enjoy the Brain Stimulation program that has them out and about with hands-on exercises and in the company of others. |
TransportationEvery day, our two full time drivers use one of our two mini-buses or sedan to take residents on scheduled trips to grocery shopping, drug stores, banks, church, temple, medical clinics, area shopping malls, and clothing stores. Individual doctor appointments are also accommodated, all within a ten mile radius! |
Game Room and Computer ClinicFacing the beautiful McDowell mountains and a dense green landscape of Sonoran desert foliage, the second floor game room accommodates many groups for bridge, mah jongg, canasta, and rummy-cube. The tall angled ceiling and arched sofet add a rich warmth and ambiance. The Computer Clinic offers retirement community residents computer classes. |
Elegant DiningDelicious meals are served in the warm and inviting Pinnacle dining room where senior living residents can choose breakfast, lunch or dinner. Most choose dinner, making it a social event. The third floor Bistro Lounge and Bar is the place to be with friends for Saturday evening socials and live music. Residents also enjoy hosting their own celebratory gatherings and the Sierra Pointe staff is availble for menu planning and entertainment suggestions. |
Library and Movie TheatreA well-stocked library keeps readers engaged with a great variety of topics for all reading interests and the Sierra Pointe book club keeps readers on their toes with lively discussions. Our movie theatre with stadium seating shows movies twice daily. All movies are resident recommendations and span all interests and time periods from the classics to recent releases. |
Volunteering and Community ServiceResidents who enjoyed volunteering before moving to Sierra Pointe still continue to do so and experience the satisfaction that comes from giving. Sierra Pointe hosts a Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast to honor those volunteers. Our arts and crafts classes include scrapbooking and pottery. |
